Congratulations to The Museum of Latin-American Art on hitting their 20 year anniversary milestone! The Museum ofLatin-American Art (MoLAA) is an institution primarily devoted to the collection, documentation, presentation, andpromotion of contemporary arts from Central and South America. The MoLAA, located in Long Beach California, haslaunched a yearlong exhibition called "MoLAA At Twenty: 1996-2016" which is meant to visually document theevolution of the museum from one man's personal art collection to the only museum in the US to feature only Latin-American art.
Since its founding in 1996, the museum has had over 130 exhibits showcasing artists like Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera,Manuel Alvarez Bravo, and Fernando Botero; and approximately 60,000 people visited the museum last year with 70,000expected for the coming year.
Incidentally, Cristina Núñez has had her work in the MoLAA Artist Registry archives for over a decade and her work isstill accessible (by appointment only) to curators, galleries, collectors, students and others with an interest in LatinAmerican art. According to the MoLAA website, "The Artist’s Registry also facilitates MoLAA staff in the selection ofwork for the permanent collection and for inclusion in group and solo exhibitions."
